The thermostat display occasionally dims

If your thermostat display occasionally dims, the most common cause is the use of incorrect batteries.

If the display occasionally becomes dim, check the type of batteries installed in your thermostat.

Your room thermostat should only be used with alkaline batteries.

The following battery types are not recommended:

  • Heavy Duty batteries (these are not alkaline batteries)

  • NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) rechargeable batteries

  • NiCd (Nickel Cadmium) rechargeable batteries

If any of these battery types are installed, replace them with fresh alkaline batteries. Using the correct batteries will help ensure reliable operation and maintain normal display brightness.
